On a weekend night in July 2007 when I called home back in India, I was told by my Mom that her friend is looking for a groom for her daughter and she jokingly asked her how about fixing my daughter with your son in their kitty party. I told my mom, I don’t know how this will go as we are located very far then I thought lets give a try and asked her to provide them my contact details and get theirs.

As usual guy initiates by saying hi and informing girl about himself and sending pic and asking the same from other end. In my case it was lil’ more than that, Anubha’s sister is in US and she called me to do intial phone screening. Luckily i passed and she must have given good review about me and then began late night chatting with Anu.

Gradually we started talking more day by day and used to discuss lil things which gave me good idea about Anu’s personality. I found her mature (not a typical kiddo girl) and sensible who understands my point of view very quickly and put hers on the table wherever necessary and appropriate and makes it complete.

Then more talking on net and phone and then finally when I visited India last year I was looking forward to meet her. I was told by many people that your heart’s bell will ring if you meet a right person and thats what happened “JAB WE MET”. After few meetings we decided to go forward and announce our decision to our family (they were waiting when this meetings will end and when they will hear from us )

After my engaged we spent good amount of times in concerts, outings and other places. Anu is very sweet, adorable and a person with whom I can say “I DO” all my life. She is the PERFECT one for me.

For me it started from a phone call from mama on a rainy july morning, as it is I was late for office and then mama again started with the marriage topic “Beta” she said ‘I had a chat with one of my friend here, her son is of marriageable age and currently working in US (Ahh, I thought…again a high nosed desi with loads of attitude), We have given your details, he will contact you in sometime’. Taking this as one more of ma’s initiatives to get her daughter married, I went about doing my daily chores.

In a few days I got Dipesh’s email id and we started interacting. First few chats were just ‘hi, how are you’ kinds then steadily it went on to long one’s and before I realized, I started looking forward to early mornings in office The first thing, which attracted me to Dipesh, is his consistency, no mood swings and never shows any attitude. He made me feel very comfortable and I opened up pretty fast with him. Gradually I found him to be sensible and down to earth. He is modern, with a shade of traditionalism (which was just fine for me). Another very positive factor is his love for his family, which is unconditional; same stands true for me too.

After 6 months of interaction we decided to meet up. I have heard somewhere, that when you meet the special someone certain chemistry and understanding starts the first time you see him. That’s what happened, the moment I saw him I felt a strong connection. I had decided the same day that he is the one for me.

In the few days after our engagement, I found him to be very levelheaded, loving and extremely caring. Am really thankful to the divine for bringing him in my life, I wouldn’t have found anyone better to spend my life with.
